Selection Criteria
CIC assess all its applicants from a grid comprised of 6 sections based on a total of 100 points. The passing grade for acceptance into the program is 67/100.   • You must prove that you earned a Canadian diploma/certificate or prove that your foreign education is valid and equal to a completed Canadian credential by submitting and Educational Credential Assessment
  • You can be awarded a maximum of 25 points based on your highest level of education attained

  • Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB 7 for speaking, listening, reading and writing)
  • To get points for your second official language, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 in all four language areas
  • A maximum of 28 points can be awarded based on your language ability and that of your spouse (if applicable)

  • You must have acquired at least 1 year in the last 10 years of skilled work experience (NOC 0,A,B)
  • A maximum of 15 points can be awarded based on the number of years of your skilled work experience

  • A maximum of 10 points can be awarded based on your previous work/study in Canada, your arranged employment, the previous work/study of your spouse (if applicable) as well as his/her language ability, and your connections in Canada
