Située sur la côte de l’Alentejo, la Réserve naturelle des lagunes de Santo André s’étend sur 16 km. Elle comprend deux lagunes, la lagune de Santo André, la plus grande de la côte de l’Alentejo, et la plus petite lagune de Sancha.

Les lagunes revêtent une grande importance biologique, attirant de nombreux oiseaux. Il est courant d’y trouver des concentrations d’oiseaux aquatiques, notamment le rossignol, qui est le symbole de la réserve. En termes de flore, cette zone protégée est également très riche et diversifiée, avec 510 espèces végétales identifiées.

Location

Located on the Alentejo coast, the Santo André Lagoons Nature Reserve stretches over 16 km. It includes two lagoons Santo André lagoon, the largest on the Alentejo coast, and the smaller Sancha lagoon.
